Nathan Maurer, Accompanist

AccompanistNathan Maurer has had the good fortune to perform in collaboration with tremendously talented musicians for nearly half his life. He began his musical career in Santa Barbara at the age of 16, where he served as pianist for both the Community of Christ Church and the Santa Barbara Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

In 2008, Mr. Maurer relocated to Los Angeles after accepting a position as staff accompanist for the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, where he also assisted in expanding the school’s musical theater program. In 2011, he also joined the staff at the University of California Los Angeles as a visiting artist, working with the studio of internationally celebrated baritone Vladimir Chernov as well as co-directing courses in musicianship and vocal technique.

Mr. Maurer returned to Santa Barbara in early 2014, and is now accompanist for Santa Barbara City College, Goleta Presbyterian Church, the Inner Light Gospel Choir, the Treble Clef Women’s Chorus, and the studios of several of Santa Barbara’s finest music instructors.
